As a New International Student Orientation peer mentor, I get a group of international students each semester where we serve as a resource for them if they have any questions while they are here. One event that my friend and I did was a campus tour for one of my mentees where we showed her around campus and showed her where her classes would be. We also showed her some of the levels of the library and explained where to go if she wants a more quiet study place, or somewhere that is a little bit more social. Other places included Farzaneh and Goddard where we explained to her that these places could be resources to her as an international student, or if she was having a medical issue. Although it was a simple event, it was fun showing a new student around our campus and making it feel a little more comfortable for her.
