Finally, the COVID vaccine is here! Hearing the story of the first person to receive the vaccine was heartwarming and restored my hope that things will start to go up from here. Margaret Keenan (91 years old) was the first person to receive the Pfizer vaccine. Hearing that she was excited to get the vaccine because she would be able to spend time with her family and friends was exciting to hear since she mentioned she spent the majority of the year alone. I think it is safe to say that this is something we all relate to. Here in the US, the vaccine plan has been announced and it is exciting to see all the healthcare workers get the vaccine as we are one step in the right direction, and soon enough the general population will be able to get the vaccine. Supporting science, and getting vaccinated is an international effort and I am ready to see what the next year holds.
