World health day was on April 7th, 2022. With increasing global public health risks, such as the pandemic, pollution, and increased cancer and chronic disease rates, this day focuses on reducing the burden and keeping the planet healthy. These environmental causes account for 13 million deaths around the world each year which are avoidable and preventable. This climate crisis is a health crisis and is the biggest threat to humanity.
The pandemic has shown the inequalities in the world through weaknesses and the lack of resources that certain communities face. There is much work to be done in order for health to be equitable for all.
